Бывшая френдесса, отфрендившая и забанившая меня за высказывание моего мнения о браке (в частности о том, что без настоящего брака, с бумажкой и штампом, ну или вставить принятую в обществе церемонию, по желанию, столь милые ей "свободные отношения" - это не что иное как поебеньки на полянке, и рано или поздно они закончатся либо разбеганием либо столь отвратительным ей официальным браком), выходит замуж. С букетами, поисками свадебного антуража и прочим церемониалом. За того самого, с которым свободные отношения и брак совершенно не нужен. Не прошло и два года.

Почему-то меня это ни разу не удивило, но хихикаю я до сих пор.

well, 'cause all along she wanted to get married and he probably wasn't proposing, and she didn't want to break up with him. You know how it is, if one is presented with situation in which it's difficult to be sane, either you'll leave the situation or come up with a delusion that makes the situation sane and appropriate, therefore her belief at that time...
but now it's all awesome, he proposed, etc etc =)

Or it can be an honest evolution of principles. She's far from stupid, after all. But I'm still amused - at myself, too. How many times I got angry at my mom for telling me something unpleasant only to discover N years down the road that she was right? I can't even count.

It's amazing how often people suspect an evil intent where there is only a sincere desire to share a hard-earned insight.

indeed. done a fair share of that myself, having huge arguments with mom and trying to prove a point which i reverted upon a few months later....
oh well, the lessons that are learned yourself stick so much better than those handed down upon us, however, only a fool doesn't learn from the experience of others...
