Still sick

So my nasty sickness was identified (hopefully). Strep throat. Now I'm told to sit at home for at least 2 or 3 days (in a mask, no fucking less, so I wouldn't spread it to my son) and take penicillin. I'm a bit puzzled, though, since the physician identified it without taking a sample of the culture. Is it the way to do it?

Anyway... pennicilin it is. Thankfully, I don't have a fever anymore.

-----------------------

She should have taken the culture. But occassionally, the strep is obvious--after all, it's pretty much the only infection that leaves you with horrid white pustules on your throat (visible upon inspection) and debilitating throat ache. Having had that a few years back, I honestly commiserate. ;((((( Hope you feel better.

Yeah, just what you said - pustules and a horrible throat ache that now is spreading through the back of my neck. I'm better than I was yeasterday, though. Last evening was truly miserable.

I suggest you start taking that medication yesterday, if possible. As soon as possible. Here was mine: my throat started to hurt on Friday night (a little), by Sunday i was in pain, by Tuesday, when I finally made it to the doctor's, I was running a 39-40 fever and literally falling off my feet. I am VERY sceptical about you getting back to work in 2-3 days, to be honest. If nothing else, you'll likely still be contagious in 2-3 days.

I already begun to take them. I'm not that careless, truly. :) And I usually get well pretty quick (knocking on wood), but you're right about me being contagious. I just hope Grishka will not catch it.

The antibiotics work pretty quickly, usually. Here's hoping you get well soon and that Grishka, who I assume is your son doesn't catch it. How old is he?

Sending you tlc (tender, loving care) energy and hugs.

Yeah, Grishka is my son (nickname EBB - Energizer Bunny Boy) and he's almost 4. Mild case of an autizm with an attitude that pretty much comes with it - the world revolves around me and no one shall tell me any different. :) So he's somewhat hard to handle now. I had to close myself in my room and he was somewhat offended by my isolationist politics. :)

On the other hand, hubby called couple of hours ago and told me he's feeling funny. And if he did catch it, I'm not going to take his paranoid attitude about doctors this time. He's going to the doctor or I can promise he'll not get even an ounce of care from me. What's up with men and their attitude toward medical care?

Thanks for tlc. :)

Your son sounds very cute, although I'm certain that he's a handfull and a half.

I don't know what is up with men and medical care. Maybe, they just feel funny about asking for help.

Your son sounds very cute

Looks even more cute, but, gosh, does his personality make up for that!

I have nothing to complain, though. Genetics is a hard thing to fool. :)
