I know. I know. Russian is almost completey not compatible with English.
Especially with poetry and literature. But even with scientific papers. I had fits passing my Russian language reading exam on a graduate level. Russian is a totally different mind set from English. I still cannot believe I passed. Neecheyo.
I will look up Brodsky and Vysotsky, though I would like to know where to look for decent translations. The translation I gave you from Yevtushenko was completely from memory. I looked up the translation online and it simply sucked.

I posted a request on one of LJ-communities. Hopefully, the collective mind will be able to suggest something that has both Russian texts and English translations. By the way, have you ever visited learn_russian? It's a good community.
